Landscape Concept Plan

Stage 1: Initial Site Consultation (from $350)

This is our opportunity to meet, for you to show me around your existing space and to share the vision for your garden.

Over an hour or so we’ll talk about your lifestyle and how to make the most of your space. We will touch on the scope of works, any existing issues, timelines and budget.

This initial meeting forms the basis for your client brief and my landscape design fee proposal.

Stage 2: Design Proposal

After our initial meeting, I’ll write up notes from the site visit and formulate a fee proposal. This summarises the brief, key design elements and the services we discussed.

This document becomes the foundation to develop your concept design.

Stage 3: Site Analysis

I’ll revisit the site to take photos and measurements. I’ll get a good look at the soils, topography, existing microclimates and viewpoints.

Depending on the site specifics, a survey may have to be conducted by a qualified surveyor (if so this will be discussed at our initial site consultation).

Stage 4: Concept Plan

This is the exciting part when the ideas take shape.

Over one or two preliminary meetings we’ll look at precedent image palates or sketches, as well as basic plain view CAD (computer aided drawings). Together we then narrow down the various options to come up with the final concept design of your landscape for living.

The package includes scaled CAD plans that highlight hard and soft landscaping elements and suggested materials such as feature trees, plants and products.  Image palates are part of the documentation you receive, and there’s also a recommended product sourcing document to assist you in finding what you need to construct your landscape.

Landscape Concept Plus+

This package goes one step further to include a more comprehensive set of plans that will make the build project a whole lot smoother. The bundle includes planting plans, schedules and construction specifications to neatly hand over to your landscaper.

The extra documentation does cost more but it can save you time and effort in the build stage. You can always come back to add on components down the track too, after the concept design stage is completed.

Design Implementation

Now that we’ve sorted your plans, it’s time to build. If you don’t know where to start or don’t have the time (or inclination) to manage the landscaping project, you can engage me as a consultant.

I’ll take care of liaising with contractors to gather quotes, monitor site progress at key stages, and be the main contact for landscaping queries. That makes the experience hassle free for you.

Planting Plans

Here’s your chance to make the most of my plant and soil knowledge. This is handy when the hardscaping elements are finished but you’re unsure what to plant where. Or maybe you’re a landscaper who specialises in the hardscaping work but you’re less keen on this planting business.

My comprehensive planting plans are tailored to the site conditions, style and garden vision. The scaled CAD plan outlines each plant size and placement, and a plant schedule is provided. You’ll also receive a helpful maintenance manual to keep your thriving garden happy and healthy.

Plant Sourcing

If you don’t have time to visit nurseries or suppliers to source the recommended plants for your dream garden, I can arrange it all. I’ll gather quotes for the supply and delivery from quality growers and distributors.

Once the plants arrive, I can also support you to set them out on site, all ready for you or the landscaper to plant in place. This is an hourly rate service.

Town Planning Landscapes

I work with owners and builders who want to subdivide a property or meet planning permit requirements for new builds and renovations.

This commercial service delivers all the elements you need to meet Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s (or any other municipality’s) planning permit requirements.

The Town Planning package includes a scaled CAD plan that details hard and soft landscaping elements. I also provide a planting plan with varieties and numbers, plus mature size projections. It is possible to include supporting images and a 2D cross section, if required.
